Please help spread the news.

New format: No need to buy tickets. Simply visit your favorite participating merchants throughout the event day and spend money! Buy merchandise and/or order from their regular menus. Have lunch, then browse the stores, have cocktails at one, appetizers at another, main course at another, and dessert at yet another. These merchants will donate a percentage of their daily sales (5%-20%) to the event. What: Briar Vista Elementary Dine Out Fundraiser

 

One of the easiest, and most delicious, ways you can help raise money to support Briar Vista Elementary is to participate in their Dine Out Spirit Nights.

This month our Dine Out restaurant is El Taco at 1186 North Highland Ave.

It's so simple to participate! All you have to do is eat at El Taco between 5 and 8pm and tell them your with BVE. Anyone can participate: neighbors, relatives, co-workers, pretty much anyone you want to recruit.

20% of all BVE proceeds will go straight to Briar Vista.

AND, if they have more than 60 guests attend, El Taco will donate 20% of the entire night to Briar Vista!

Here are some tips to help us meet our goal of 60 guests:
Make reservations and be sure to tell them you are with BVE! 404-873-4656. Tell your neighbors, friends, relatives & co-workers. We look forward to seeing you (and all of your friends) at El Taco!

City of Briarcliff Initiative
This topic was a great source of interest at our last GA meeting. There have been many developments since then and representatives from the City of Briarcliff Initiative will be presenting on the benefits of Cityhood and the status of the initiative. Come and decide for yourself on this very important topic.

Meet the New Principal for Briar Vista Elementary
This year promises to be an exciting one at our local Elementary school with many positive changes under way. Come meet our new Principal Ms. Cammie Neill and hear about what is under way at Briar Vista Elementary.

Cityhood Town Hall Meeting affecting the Woodland Hills Neighborhood

A Town Hall meeting has been set a Glenn Methodist Church Auditorium to discuss the current Cityhood options being considered in Dekalb County. The main options to be discussed are the City of Briarcliff, The City of Lakeside (Does not include Woodland Hills) as well as possible annexation into City of Atlanta.

Although early in their stages of development, groups for both the City of Briarcliff and the City of Lakeside initiatives have raised the necessary funds to begin their feasibility studies through the Carl Vinson Institute.

This topic garnered a lot of interest at our recent WHNA Gerneral Assembly meeting, all options affect our Neighborhood and it is very important to become educated on the pro's and con's of Cityhood.

All new cities scheduled to be presented to the state legislature in January 2014 will be discussed. All DeKalb County residents are welcome.
