DeKalb Schools Superintendent Search

As discussed in the Board meeting today, PROACT (the superintendent search firm) is looking for community feedback regarding the next superintendent. The countywide public engagement session is tonight, Thursday, February 12th, from 7:00 to 8:30 at the Board of Education Auditorium. If you are able, please plan to attend. Whether you attend or not, please give your feedback online:

PROACT Search and the DeKalb County School District are in the process of
preparing the background information and documentation for the search,
including a formal position profile and application. Part of this process
involves an extensive, in-depth period of stakeholder engagement. Please
feel free to participate in this process through an online survey. You
may access the link through either of the two links below. It is
available in multiple languages on both websites. Please share this
information with other stakeholders.

This truly was a great event that couldn't have happened without all the hard work and generosity.   You made it fun too!!!

Ps - Because of so much food being available from Outback, Burger Fi Chilis & Tin Lizzie's Cantina we were able to feed the bus drivers too!!  They were very thankful on that rainy afternoon!!

Briar Vista Elementary School Fundraiser Atlanta Marathon – Sun 10/27 6am-12pm

Briar Vista Elementary School Needs Your Help!

Briar Vista has been selected by the Atlanta Track Club to sponsor a mile cheer section in the Atlanta Marathon. With an opportunity to raise up to $7,500, they need your help.

They need at least 90 people to volunteer to cheer on the runners between 6:00 am - 12:00 pm on Sunday, October 27th to receive the donation.

Please visit http://www.doitsports.com/volunteer2/info.tcl?job_id=54249156 to sign up today!

Put your desired volunteer times in the comment section of the sign up page. Also - you need to register your children as well. (family of four would be four separate registrations!)

NOTE: If you receive a server error, please try again. We have noticed it can take a few tries to get through. We appreciate your patience!

The mile starts at Briarcliff Road (by the Kroger) and continues through Shepherds Lane to LaVista Road. You will be able to park at Marcus Institute as well as BVE and walk down to the cheer section at the Marcus Drive on Shepard's lane. There will have food, music, and lots of fun.

The theme for their section is "Zombies on the Run" so you can wear zombie attire or Halloween attire. They will also have a zombify tent!

They are also asking for those of you on Shepards Lane to decorate your yard with signs and other Zombie accouterments.

Other ways to help:

Design/bring a "Zombies on the Run" sign
Dress up as a Zombie (or other Halloween gear) to help cheer the runners.
Decorate your house or yard if you live in our section.
Send this email to your friends, neighbors and co-workers to sign up too.

If you have any questions, please email the Briar Vista PTO at Briarpatchbve@gmail.com or visit their website at www.bvebriarpatch.org.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to have fun and raise money for Briar Vista!
