BriarVista Elementary Update

HOW WILL DEKALB COUNTY SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION AND CLOSURE AFFECT YOU?

HOW WILL AN ABANDONED SCHOOL AFFECT YOUR PROPERTY VALUES?

HOW WILL THE COUNTY SPEND YOUR TAX DOLLARS?

WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SPLOST? HOW WILL THIS MONEY BE SPENT?

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD?

As President of the Briar Vista PTA I am asking for your help assuring our school's ability to continue serving the community.

Briar Vista Elementary is critical to the health of our community:

·         Achieved the standard set by " No Child Left Behind" 6 out  of the last 7 years.

·         One of 3 public elementary schools in the state offering Montessori teaching as an option.

·         Open capacity to receive students from area schools already over capacity.

·         Active community partner with local neighborhood association's initiatives

Great schools make great communities!  As a citizen and tax payer in Dekalb county you need to know of the county's plan to redistrict, renovate, and close school this year and in the future.  Their plan called "2020 Vision" is a 10 year plan to evaluate schools for physical adequacy, get input from the community, consolidate schools and redistrict, and upgrade and/or build schools in the future.

IF YOU DO NOT MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD NOW THERE WILL NOT BE ANOTHER OPORTUNITY!!!!

By clicking  on the link below you can immediately have a voice in this process.  The survey takes about 1 minute and the results directly impact the decisions made by the county.
