Clifton Corrdior Transit Initiative

For those of you unable to attend last Sunday's meeting regarding the upcoming development of the Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative, LCCC has created minutes of the meetings to keep you up to speed.

To view the minutes from the first meeting held in Woodland Hills click Here.

Thanks again to the Lapse's, Jane Rawlings (LLCC's transportation head, LLCC, and Heather Alhadeff (a Perkins + Will Senior Transportation Planner) for putting together such a great meeting.

Ms. Alhadeff has been hired to help as an adviser to work on behalf of the concerned residents and businesses of Lindridge-Martin Manor, LaVista Park, Woodland Hills, and Morningside-Lenox Park, the Cheshire Bridge Business node and the Zonolite Business node.

Her goals are to conduct the tasks listed below for each of the neighborhoods until the Alternatives Analysis study is finalized.

1.Provide facts and technical information about the project

2.Answer questions

3.Collect and share outstanding questions for MARTA and to provide their responses

4.Collect feedback, concerns, and ideas from residents to be compiled into an area-wide report to be shared with MARTA

For those of you not aware, this project will use the CSX corridor (south or Arnold Ave) as a transportation route from Lindbergh Station to Emory and end at Avondale.

Please Participate in LLCC.’s Clifton Corridor Survey

This was from LLCC.  It is strongly recommended that people take the time to fill out the survey.  LLCC needs to hear your feedback.

LLCC has hired Heather Alhadeff, Senior Transportation Planner at Perkins + Will, to assist our organization in providing constructive community feedback to MARTA as it conducts its Alternatives Analysis (AA) for the Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative.  Feedback from area residents and business owners will be compiled into an area-wide report to be shared with MARTA as it moves toward choosing the Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) for this study in mid October. It is LLCC's goal to present this community feedback in a clear and logical form so as to positively impact the process and project. You can help by taking a few minutes to complete the following survey.  This survey will be available to participants until October 1. The final results will be posted on the LLCC website.

This survey is a tool to identify improvements to the project IF it were to move forward. Your thoughts, whether for or against, are very helpful during this phase of planning.

Thank you for participating in our survey, as your feedback is very important to us.

Station Area Planning and Alignment Workshop

Title: Station Area Planning and Alignment Workshop
Location: Torah Day School Gym 1985 Lavista Road
Link out: Click here
Description: We Want to Hear from You!
Please plan to attend our Station Area Planning and Alignment Workshop to learn more about the transit
alternatives proposed by MARTA for the Clifton Corridor, a busy travel area between Buckhead/Lindbergh
and Emory/Decatur. MARTA, in conjunction with the Clifton Corridor Transit Management Association
(CCTMA), has developed three alternatives to alleviate congestion along the corridor. These transit
alternatives involve connecting the Lindbergh Center and Avondale MARTA stations with either
bus rapid transit, light rail, heavy rail, or combinations of transit technology. All alternatives
provide service to the CDC and Emory University.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. A brief introduction and instructions for the workshop will be presented
at 6 p.m. Then we will need your active input to plan station areas and alignment patterns.
Tell your friends, co-workers, classmates, and neighbors! When you attend these sessions,
you will become a transit planner, so come ready to work!
