Description: Our state senator David Adelman has been nominated by President Obama and confirmed by congress to be the U.S. ambassador to Singapore. He has assumed this new position and therefore his seat in the Georgia senate is now vacant.

There are 4 candidates who are running for his seat. Jason Carter, David Montane, Steve Patrick, and Tom Stubbs.

There will be a special election on Tuesday May 11. In order to become more acquainted with these candidates so that we can make an informed choice Merry Hills Homeowners Association together with North Druid Hills, LavistaPark and Woodland Hills Homeowners Associations are sponsoring a candidates forum on May 2 at 8:00 P.M.

It will take place in Congregation Beth Jacob's upstairs conference room, Cong. Beth Jacob is located at 1855 Lavista Rd. (between N. Druid Hills and Briarcliff). Each candidate will present brief remarks and then there will be a question and answer period.

It is with deepest sympathy that I pass along this information.  Sue Browning, a long time resident and activist for Woodland Hills has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home at 2773 North Decatur Road in Decatur. The Reverend Dr. Betty Castellani of DeKalb Medical Cancer Center will officiate. GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING April 29th, 7:30

PLEASE JOIN US for our quarterly general assembly meeting this Thursday, April 29th at 7:30pm at Peachtree Baptist Church on the corner of Briarcliff and LaVista.

  • Cleaning up our neighborhood Signs
  • Briar Vista Elementary-as you may or may not know, Briar Vista was one of the schools that was on the "danger of closing list."  Luckily, it is not closing.  We have invited numerous parents of children who attend Briar Vista to give us their opinions of the school and also update us on any new news.
If you haven't been lately, please try and be there.  I promise to keep it as short as possible (last meeting was done in under an hour).
