ATLANTA POLICE ISSUE PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT IN NORTHEAST ATLANTA

The Atlanta Police Department is urging women in the northeast Atlanta area to be on alert following three sex crimes/burglaries in January that followed a similar pattern.
Investigators have not definitively tied all three cases together, but there are similarities to raise concerns that they were committed by the same suspect and that he may strike again.
The APD is temporarily withholding some details of the crimes in order to protect the identities of the victims and to preserve the integrity of the investigations.
The crimes occurred between Jan. 1st and Jan. 19th on Lenox Road and Peachtree Park Drive.
The perpetrator has been described as a black male with a thin build, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, dressed all in black.
“We have seen an escalation in the crimes and are concerned it could reach an even higher level of violence,” said Maj. Keith Meadows, Major Crimes Commander for the Atlanta Police Department. “We don’t want to unnecessarily alarm the public,
Atlanta Police urge women to be aware of their surroundings, to always lock windows and doors, and to report any suspicious people or activity to 911.
