GOVERNOR SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER

DECATUR – Governor Sonny Perdue issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency in DeKalb and 16 other counties affected by heavy rain and severe weather that passed through Georgia.

“The citizens of DeKalb are heartened that Governor Perdue has taken this swift and appropriate action to ensure that state and federal resources will be available to assist our county in the wake of this historic rainfall,” says CEO Ellis. “Our administration, along with the Board of Commissioners, looks forward to working closely alongside state officials to provide necessary relief to our citizens and the impacted communities. We are continuing to monitor the situation and provide needed information and resources. Citizens are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling outside of their homes and should continue to monitor local news services for changes occurring in the area.”
