WHNA needs you. Annual
board elections were held at the last general assembly
meeting. By popular vote, last years board will remain
in effect. However, there are currently 2 open positions
available. WHNA needs to elect a Executive Vice President
and Zoning Coordinator. If you are interested in any
of these positions, please contact the WHNA president.
For a description of these positions, please click
on "Constitution
& By-laws"
As of our last meeting, our Registrar/Treasurer has
decided to step down for personal reasons. Therefore,
there are 2 more open positions to fill.
Please strongly consider applying for one of these
open positions. The Neighborhood Association cannot
function without the volunteer efforts of its residents.
This is a chance to make a difference in the neighborhood
you live in.
Tired of cars speeding
through the neighborhood? The WHNA board
purchased several "Slow Down" signs from
PEDS. If you would
like to proudly display one of these signs in front
of your house in an effort to slow down speeders,
then please contact your WHNA president.
Messages from our officers
Just after 9pm on Tuesday May 6th someone was in my neighbors parked car in his driveway rummaging through it. This occurred on Palafox DR near the intersection of Woodland Hills. My neighbor (the owner of the car) spotted the activity and ran the man away. He described the suspect as a Hispanic Male. The man ran to a 2 door Pontiac Grand Prix that was light in color parked in the driveway of the house next door with another person driving it. The tag number of the car was 109ZHR.
The DeKalb police were called and responded quickly. They ran the tag and it came back as a stolen car. Please keep an eye out for this car and call 911 if you see it or any other suspicious activity in our neighborhood.
Per WHNA President:
The sewer rehabilitation work performed by the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management will necessitate lane closures.
One lane of Lindbergh Road between Strathmore and Melante will be closed from May 5th through May 16th. Work will be done between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.
Please travel with caution throughout the area if you must, and plan alternate routes when at all possible.
